The Divination of Disney

Disney’s Designed Deconstruction of the Christian Culture

Media is a powerful tool that has distracted Christians from the diligent service for the Lord which Scripture expresses is necessary for this day (1 Cor. 15:58). This willingness to be distracted from God’s calling is brought the abounding apostasy into the churches. “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient” (Rom. 1:28). Entertainment has become idolatrous enchantress to the mesmerized masses that mindlessly follow it. The apostle Paul encountered a similar sorcerer during his journeys. “And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus: Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God. But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith. Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him. And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?” (Acts 13:6-10) Blindness was the curse upon this sorcery, yet, today, for the average Christian blindness would be the blessing to rescue them from the divination of this media age.

Marlin Maddoux stated, “The media can control your thoughts. They can make you like what they want you to like; they can make you hate what they want you to hate; they can cause you to change what they want you to change. They do it by skillful manipulation of pictures and of the printed word. They do it through newspapers and magazines, on television and in the movies.”1)Marlin Maddoux, Free Speech or Propaganda? How the Media Distorts the Truth, Thomas Nelson Publishers, 1990, p. 132 Robert Bork wrote, “Hollywood’s writers, producers, and executives think popular entertainment affects behaviors. It is not merely that they sell billions of dollars of advertising on television on the premise that they can influence behavior; they also think that the content of the programs can reform society… They understand that no single program will change attitudes much, but they rely upon the cumulative impact of years of television indoctrination.”2)Robert H. Bork, Slouching Towards Gomorrah: Modern Liberalism and American Decline, HarperCollins Publishers, 1996, p. 144-145 Eric Barger and David Benoit stated, “… the fact is that, at the earliest ages, values and morals are being taught to our kids in virtually every program they watch. In the view of the designer, children must not only be entertained, they must also be indoctrinated into political correctness to instill humanistic teachings, while the doctrinal correctness indoctrinates the viewers into New Age and occult philosophies.”3)Eric Barger & David Benoit. Entertaining Spirits Unaware: The End-Time Occult Invasion, Take A Stand! Ministries (Rowlett, TX) 2000, updates 2011 edition, p. 114 Even what many believe to be clean and harmless such as the Disney Company is extremely dangerous for Christian families to subject their children to.

It is even more disturbing that Disney and a growing number of marketers and advertisers now work with child psychologists and other experts, who study young people in order to better understand children’s culture so as to develop marketing methods that are more camouflaged, seductive and successful. Disney claims this kind of intensive research pays off in lucrative dividends and reinforces the Disney motto that, in order to be a successful company, “You have to start with the kids themselves.”4)http://www.truth-out.org/opinion/item/2808:how-disney-magic-and-the-corporate-media-shape-youth-identity-in-the-digital-age; citing Brooks Barnes, “Disney Expert Uses Science to Draw Boy Viewers,” New York Times (April 14, 2009), A14.

Walt Disney himself has been quoted as saying, “Movies can and do have tremendous influence in shaping young lives in the realm of entertainment towards the ideals and objectives of normal adulthood.”5)Walt Disney – http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/w/walt_disney.html He has reiterated this theme in multitudes of statements throughout his life. “Animation can explain whatever the mind of man can conceive. This facility makes it the most versatile and explicit means of communication yet devised for quick mass appreciation.”6)Walt Disney – http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/w/walt_disney.html And again, he boasted, “Of all of our inventions for mass communication, pictures still speak the most universally understood language.”7)Walt Disney – http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/w/walt_disney.html Mark I. Pinsky indicated, “As a filmmaker Walt Disney took a different view. His animated features were always designed to be ‘message’ films in the broadest sense, and especially for children.”8)Mark I. Pinsky, The Gospel According to Disney: Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust, Westminster John Knox Press (Louisville Kentucky) 2004, p. 2 An official Disney website records in Walt Disney’s biography, “Walt Disney transformed the entertainment industry, into what we know today. He pioneered the fields of animation, and found new ways to teach, and educate.”9)http://www.justdisney.com/walt_disney/biography/long_bio.html The history of the company reveals at times it was hired by the American government to produce propaganda films. “In 1940, construction was completed on the Burbank Studio, and Disney’s staff swelled to more than 1,000 artists, animators, story men, and technicians. Although, because of World War II 94 percent of the Disney facilities were engaged in special government work, including the production of training and propaganda films for the armed services, as well as health films which are still shown through-out the world by the U.S. State Department.”10)http://www.justdisney.com/walt_disney/biography/long_bio.html

We are informed “…Donald Duck appeared in a number of comical propaganda shorts, including the Academy Award-winning Der Fuehrer’s Face (1943).”11)https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Walt_Disney_Company#1934.E2.80.931945:_Snow_White_and_the_Seven_D%20warfs_and_World_War_II

The Disney biography states, “Walt’s inquisitive mind and keen sense for education through entertainment resulted in the award-winning True-Life Adventure series.”12)http://www.justdisney.com/walt_disney/biography/long_bio.html From its inception, the Disney Company utilized its ability to entertain and propagate a message to the watching world. The obvious question becomes, “what is their message?”

The 1995 animated film Pocahontas presented this message by revising history. In it the historical figure Pocahontas (who should be 10 years of age) is a grown seductress who converts Captain John Smith to her pagan spirituality of animism.

Pic4 - PocahontasPocahontas and John Smith speaking to the tree spirit

The same message was presented for adults in the 2009 movie Avatar which took place on an alien world with the humans invading to harvest some precious commodity from under the sacred land of the indigenous pagan alien species. This movie vilifies Christianity by naming the money hungry human heading the mining corporation Augustine while the main character falls in love with and alien female ending in his conversion to paganism. Mark Driscoll, Emergent Church pastor of Mars Hill in Seattle called Avatar “new age, satanic, demonic paganism, and people are just stunned by the visuals… Well, the visuals are amazing because Satan wants you to emotionally connect with a lie.” 13)http://blog.seattlepi.com/thebigblog/2010/02/24/avatar-is-the-most-satanic-film-mark-driscoll-has-ever-seen/ Mark Driscoll’s church has a Champaign bar on New Year’s Eve offers beer- brewing lessons and hosts R-rated movies on their big screen. For Driscoll to call Avatar evil says a lot. In fact, the movie is far more diabolical then Driscoll can imagine. Berit Kjos writes: “The Hindu word avatar refers to an incarnation or manifestation of a Hindu god. The most common avatars are incarnations of the god Vishnu, and they include the mischievous flute-playing Krishna and the bow-and-arrow carrying Rama. Both are usually pictured with bluish skin—just like the native Na’vis.” 14)Berit Kjos, How To Protect Your Children from the New Age and Spiritual Deception, Lighthouse Trails Publishing, 2013, p. 111 The “Na’vis” is the name of the blue skinned alien species in the movie. The word na’vi is actually a transliteration of the Hebrew word “prophet” – נָבִיא –  as the “bet” (ִב) is pronounced as “[v] as in vase” 15)Thomas Lambdin, Introduction To Biblical Hebrew, Sheffiel Academic Press Ltd, 1976, 2012, p. XV Thus, the movie’s central theme is to equate the Hebrew prophets of the Bible with Hindu avatars, an intended religious synthesis, and vilifying Christianity. It is a multi-million dollar piece of New Age spiritual propaganda at its finest.

Pic5 - AvatarAvatar also had its theme revolve around a sacred spiritual tree

Raw Pagan and occultism have been the recurring them throughout the history of the “Magic Kingdom.”

Pic6 - MickeyMickey as the sorcerers aprentice became the masott for the “magic kingdom”

Mark Pinsky wrote, “The Disney empire, by its founder’s designation, is a kingdom of magic, almost totally without reference to any kingdom of heaven.”16)Mark I. Pinsky, The Gospel According to Disney: Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust, Westminster John Knox Press (Louisville Kentucky) 2004, p. 1-2 He assessed Disney’s religious position for films:

Thus the choice was made to keep the films-accessible and relevant to children from both inside and outside the Judeo-Christian tradition in order to pass through a minefield of conflicting sensibilities….
Magic, Disney apparently decided, would be a far more universal device to do this than any one religion.17)Mark I. Pinsky, The Gospel According to Disney: Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust, Westminster John Knox Press (Louisville Kentucky) 2004, p. 4

Disney himself stated “Faith I have, in myself, in humanity, in the worthwhileness of the pursuits in entertainment for the masses.”18)Walt Disney, as cite d by Mark I. Pinsky, The Gospel According to Disney: Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust, Westminster John Knox Press (Louisville Kentucky) 2004, p. 20 This is far from a biblical faith (Ps. 118:8; Prov. 3:5-6; Hebrew 6:11, etc.) “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God” (Mark 11:22). Paul asked, “For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness” (Rom. 4:3). Disney’s false faith is even prophesied in God’s word that God would permit a strong delusion to set the stage prior to antichrist being revealed so the world would be prepared to accept his lying signs and wonders (2 Thess. 2:9-10). Disney’s played the role of preparing minds for this finale deception: “And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie” (2 Thess. 2:11). Disney movies have produced an interfaith ideology that has broken down the walls of many Christians to have an unbiblical eclectic view of religion blended with magic.

Why would Christians find comfort in being entertained by occultism? Walter Martin, Jill Martin Rische, and Kurt Van Gorden, warned in a 2008 publication of The Kingdom of the Occult:

The SciFi channel, in its paranormal program Ghosthunters, opens the door to the dangerous world of demonic activity through the popular format of reality TV…. The Travel Channel, the National Geographic Channel, and numerous others offer programs on haunted sites and taboo rituals steeped in the occult. This media coverage had given status to the occult and to the power of Witchcraft….

As a result of this insidious media barrage, millions of people have accepted some aspect of the occult as valid. Spiritual defense have been and continue to be undermined and weakened, until it is now quite common to find Protestant and Catholic people reading horoscopes more religiously than their Bibles and replacing their prayer lives with yoga relaxation techniques.19)Walter Martin, Jill Martin Rische, and Kurt Van Gorden, The Kingdom of the Occult, Thomas Nelson., 2008, p. 24-26

A former New Age priest expressed how his conversion from his Christian up bring was first and foremost due to the media.

Remembering clearly the scene from this specific devil-worship movie [The Devil Rides Out], I was shocked to realize that this film was directly responsible for starting me on the road to the real world of the occult…
Sitting in deep introspection as I vividly remembered the scenes from the movie, I realized in horror that something subtle and sinister had happened to me as I watched the film. A powerful seed of fascination with the occult and mystical had been sown in my own psyche. The seed did not germinate for several years. But it was deeply rooted and gradually drew me into the enchanting world of mysticism and the occult.20)Will Baron, Deceived by the New Age: The story of a New Age Priest, Pacific Press Publishing Association, 1990, p. 186-188

How many children will grow up remembering scenes of depicting occultism which will influence their spirituality? Mark I. Pinsky explaining some of the Disney animation, saying, “The occult is unvarnished and front-and-center – dark, evil, and creepy – in The Black Cauldron. Its heady brew bubbles with spells, witches, griffins, gremlins, and enchanted sword, a clairvoyant pig, people who used to be frogs, and a furry, forest creature who speaks in the third person and seems to have been lifted from J.R.R. Tolkien.”21)Mark I. Pinsky, The Gospel According to Disney: Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust, Westminster John Knox Press (Louisville Kentucky) 2004, p. 104 Of The Lion King he writes:

Rob Minkoff, the film’s director, said the film attempted “a level of spirituality, something slightly metaphysical,” according to the June 12, 1994, New York News.”22)Mark I. Pinsky, The Gospel According to Disney: Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust, Westminster John Knox Press (Louisville Kentucky) 2004, p. 154

And:

The lyrics explain the concept of the “Great Circle of Life,” which draws on the Hindu tradition that earthly existence is part of a never-ending cycle – although there is no specific reference to reincarnation.23)Mark I. Pinsky, The Gospel According to Disney: Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust, Westminster John Knox Press (Louisville Kentucky) 2004, p. 154

Actually, the “circle of life” does not depict reincarnation as is commonly claimed. As it is presented in the movie itself, it teaches the Hindu doctrine of monism (all is one) by the lesson from the father figure that lions die become the grass which antelopes eat and are in turn eaten by lions, thus all are one in this circle of life.

Eric Barger and David Benoit explain, “In perhaps the most dramatic scene in the movie, Simba looks to the night sky and speaks to his deceased father, seeking guidance, and his father speaks back!… The very popular movie openly taught and encouraged mystic and New Age beliefs to millions of children worldwide.”24)Eric Barger & David Benoit. Entertaining Spirits Unaware: The End-Time Occult Invasion, Take A Stand! Ministries (Rowlett, TX) 2000, updates 2011 edition, p. 108 Such things are strictly and frequently forbidden through Scriptures as abominations:

It has been commonly charged that Walt Disney was a Freemason. For example, one individual states, “I am a Freemason and about to join the Scottish Rite. …[He] was in DeMolay as a youth…a young man’s organization, stepping stone to freemasonry. He was also a 33rd degree Scottish Rite mason, I have read this in official lodge literature. He was a great man.”25)https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=A0LEVwuYhIVU4oYA6nNXNyoA_ylu=X3oDMTEzNjJxMGR0BHNlYwNzcgRwb3MDMgRjb2xvA2JmMQR2dGlkA1ZJUDUyM18x?qid=20100116230047AARSZIE However, this is without any authoritative validation. As a teenager, Walt Disney was a member of the Order of DeMolay, a youth organization affiliated with Free Masons….
[He] Was initiated into DeMolay at the Mother Chapter in Kansas City Missouri, in 1920.

Received the DeMolay Legion of Honor in 1931.
On November 13, 1986, he was a member of the first group to be inducted into the DeMolay Hall of Fame.28)http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000370/bio?ref_=nm_ov_bio_sm

He said:

I feel a great sense of obligation and gratitude toward the Order of DeMolay for the important part it played in my life. Its precepts have been invaluable in making decisions, facing dilemmas and crises. DeMolay stands for all that is good for the family and for our country. I feel privileged to have enjoyed membership in DeMolay.

The DeMolay creeds had become a definite guide by the time I started making motion pictures, first in Kansas City, then in Hollywood….

It is gratifying to be assured that these same influences of DeMolay are still at work among so many young Americans today.29)Walt Disney “Special DHI Guest Essay on DeMolay,” http://www.disneyhistoryinstitute.com/2011/03/mickey-mouse-chapter-of-demolay.html?vm=r&s=1

This occult influence is infiltrating churches and this perhaps is widely due to the influence of Disney films on Christians from their youngest ages. Describing the impression on visitors of Disneyland in Orlando, based on studies conducted on over 200 visitors, Michael R. Real writes in The Disney Universe: Morality Play “…the Disney universe seems to compete with religious, educational, political, economic and familial forces in setting ultimate standards for reality and behavior…. As a morality play of secular American values, Disneyland utilizes entertainment, education, mythology, and utopianism to typify, strengthen, and spread a patriotic American’s idealized version of nation and world, of the past, the present and the future.” He characterized the experience within Disneyland as “the quasi-sacred interior of the park.”30)Michael R. Real writes in The Disney Universe: Morality Play, Mass Medical Culture, (Englewood Cliffs, N.J.) 1977, as cited by Mark I. Pinsky, The Gospel According to Disney: Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust, Westminster John Knox Press (Louisville Kentucky) 2004, p. 230 Disney has even directed its marketing target towards the Christian community. Such Christian culture of America caused Mickey mouses character to evolve to become the national icon he is today.

Christopher Finch, in his semiofficial pictorial history of Disney’s work, comments: “The Mickey Mouse who hit the movie houses in the late twenties was not quite the well-behaved character most of us are familiar with today. He was mischievous, to say the least, and even displayed a streak of cruelty.” But Mickey soon cleaned up his act, leaving to gossip and speculation only his unresolved relationship with Minnie and the status of Morty and Ferdie. Finch continues: “Mickey … had become virtually a national symbol, and as such he was expected to behave properly at all times. If he occasionally stepped out of line, any number of letters would arrive at the Studio from citizens and organizations who felt that the nation’s moral well-being was in their hands. . . . Eventually he would be pressured into the role of straight man.”31) Stephen Jay Gould, The Panda’s Thumb, W. W. Norton & Company (New York, NY: 1980), p. 96
As the American Christianity became receptive to Mickey Mouse, Disney became more focus on targeting the Christian community.

For more than a decade, Disney World has hosted “Night of Joy” each September, drawing tens of thousands of young people with the biggest names in contemporary Christian music. …the Disney World event does not permit evangelists to speak from the various stages.32)Mark I. Pinsky, The Gospel According to Disney: Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust, Westminster John Knox Press (Louisville Kentucky) 2004, p. 231-232

For a corporation to target a large community such as contemporary Christians in this apostate age is an intelligent marketing gimmick. But for these Christians with no convictions to freely yoke themselves and support this company is disturbing considering Disney also hosts a “Gay Day.” Because of the obvious homosexual endorsement and propaganda expressed by the Disney Company, the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), American Family Association (AFA), and Focus on the Family inaugurated a boycott against Disney back in 1996 which lasted 8 years until they voted to end the boycott in June of 2005. Clearly, nominal Christianity cared little for their children to protect their minds and hearts from the dangers of Disney so they simply never participated in the boycott. Gay activist welcomed the vote to reverse the boycott, “Activists for gay and lesbian causes welcomed the vote as a possible opening to what they hope will be a new dialogue with the SBC and other Christian-based opponents of gay and lesbian rights….Menard and other activists said they also saw signs of a thawing in the SBC toward gays and lesbians in the decision by a convention committee to significantly weaken a resolution that would have called upon Southern Baptists to withdraw their children from public schools.”33)http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Evils%20in%20America/Hellivision/boycott_gone.htm The weakness of their “Christian” convictions has continued to leave Disney unwavering in the propaganda of homosexuality targeted toward children. The Disney channel children’s show “Good Luck Charlie” introduced a lesbian couple in the 2014 season.3234)http://www.christianpost.com/news/gay-couple-featured-on-disney-channels-good-luck-charlie-lesbian-moms-on-kids-tv-show-sparks-controversy-113528/

Since January 1, 1996, Disney Co. has offered Health benefits to gay couples, but “Unmarried, heterosexual couples were not eligible for coverage.”35)Mark I. Pinsky, The Gospel According to Disney: Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust, Westminster John Knox Press (Louisville Kentucky) 2004, p. 244 Most recently, the new blockbuster Frozen has come under severe criticism for a pro-homosexual agenda.36)A number of reviewers have indicated this which are listed below which is in no way an exhaustive list:

A quick glance at the lyrics of the hit song “Let It Go” reveals why this controversy exists.

The snow glows white on the mountain tonight Not a footprint to be seen
A kingdom of isolation
And it looks like I’m the queen

The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside Couldn’t keep it in, Heaven knows I tried
Don’t let them in, don’t let them see
Be the good girl you always have to be

Conceal, don’t feel, don’t let them know Well, now they know
Let it go, let it go
Can’t hold it back anymore

Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door

I don’t care what they’re going to say
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway
It’s funny how some distance makes everything seem small And the fears that once controlled me can’t get to me at all It’s time to see what I can do

To test the limits and break through No right, no wrong, no rules for me I’m free
Let it go, let it go

I’m one with the wind and sky Let it go, let it go
You’ll never see me cry
Here I stand and here I’ll stay Let the storm rage on

My power flurries through the air into the ground My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast
I’m never going back, the past is in the past

Let it go, let it go
And I’ll rise like the break of dawn Let it go, let it go
That perfect girl is gone
Here I stand in the light of day
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway

When questioned about this suspicious language of a subliminal homosexual agenda, Disney officials refuse to deny the allegation but indicate that they encourage people to interpret the movie however they want. This has been a classic statement for Disney ever since the founder, Walt Disney.

Consider also the strange use of the word “fractal” in the song, a word which has become a key term and identifier of the New Age spirituality. The common thread of occult/magic in all Disney productions, it is probable that there is something subliminal to be identified. A fractal is an infinitely repeating order such as a crystal or that of a snow flake. Former New Ager, Warren Smith, explains: “The word fractal is being used as a pseudo-scientific synonym for the belief that God is ‘in’ everything-everything being a fractal or a fractured part of the whole, a fractured part of God. Taken a step further, The Shack is indirectly presenting the notion that ‘chaos’ is simply the result of people not seeing the ‘God in everything’ fractal order in the world – ‘as above, so below.’”37)Warren B. Smith, A “Wonderful” Deception: The Further New Age Implication of the Emerging/Purpose Driven Movement, Lighthouse Trails Publishing (Eureka Montana) 2010, p. 144 The implication is a doctrine known as Panentheism (God is in all thing) in contrast to Pantheism (God is all things).38)see Panentheism Part 1 https://truthwatchers.com/panentheism/ and Panentheism Part 2 https://truthwatchers.com/panentheism-part-2/ This heretical spirituality does seem to be implied by the song as a few lines above the statement is made “I’m one with the wind and sky.” It is only within the matriarchal pagan religions that homosexuality has been condoned throughout history. The Pantheism/Panentheism theologies recognize no right or wrong within morality which is also expressed in this song, “No right, no wrong, no rules for me, I’m free, Let it go, let it go.” If all are connected through God in some way, then, both good and evil is essentially God. Thus sexuality gets expressed by the merging of the two genders which are naturally separated since creation. As Peter Jones noted, “That androgyny, homosexuality, and the refusal of child-bearing and marriage have taken such a hold in our contemporary culture is linked to the rise of Gnostic spirituality.”39)Peter Jones, Stolen Identity: The Conspiracy to Reinvent Jesus, Victor (Colorado Springs, Colorado) 2006, p. 96 Thus the goal is to effeminate men and emasculate women in their actions, sexuality and clothing.

Walt Disney steadfastly refused to interpret his own work, expecting his animated features to speak for themselves, “We make the pictures and then let the professors tell what they mean,” he said many times.40)Mark I. Pinsky, The Gospel According to Disney: Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust, Westminster John Knox Press (Louisville Kentucky) 2004, p. 262

The message being presented within a song makes it all the more reason for concern. Pastor

David E. Moss wrote:

Of course, knowledge and emotions are interrelated. What I know causes me to feel certain things. What I feel causes me to think certain things….

Unfortunately, most of us evaluate music on the basis of how it makes us feel. We enjoy music without thinking about its manipulative powers. “Oh, that sounded so good” is a typical response to music. Rarely do we say, “I really learned something from that song.41)Pastor David E. Moss, God’s Song, Fundamental Evangelistic Association, undated, p. 20

Just as Disney was well aware of his ability to use films to teach, musicians are well aware of the fact that they can use music to teach even more effectively with emotional connections which is also why movies have music constantly playing in the background. “The loud sounds and bright lights of today are tremendous indoctrination tools.”42)Musician Frank Zappa, cited by Gary Allen, That Music, American Opinion, Feb, 1969,p. 58 One New Age composer confessed, “I can open the doors of your [brain’s] databanks…. As you’re listening, the rescripting process is happening automatically via subliminally recorded messages.”43)Patrick J. Harbula, “Sounds of Transformation: A Talk with Brother Charles,” Meditation, Fall 1987, p. 21 Disney films are perhaps the single most significant influence that desensitized the generation of Christians that let their guard down against rock music and began to synchronize it into the worship practices as “Contemporary Christian Music” (CCM).

“Disney has a track record of slipping bizarre messages into their films, mostly in the form of hidden images, but also sometimes through sound. For those who don’t know, subliminal messaging refers to images or sounds that pass by so fast that only your subconscious picks them up.”44)Anonymous, November 22, 2012, http://listverse.com/2012/11/22/top-10-ways-disney-corrupts-children/

Here are only a few of the many that could be listed.

  • In Who Framed Roger Rabbit a scene show Jessica Rabbit with legs spread revealing all, which had to be edited in the video and rereleased after complaints were made.
  • On the cover art of The Little Mermaid appeared an illustrated phallic symbol which was removed from later editions.
  • In The Rescuers 1999 release, two frames held a photograph of a nude woman in the background. This video was recalled and the image was edited out.
  • Both The Lion King and Aladdin the word “sex” appears as a subliminal image.

Pic17 - Lion King Special Effects 1Pic18 - Lion King Special Effects 2Tom Sito, a writer and animator for The Lion King, said the word written in dust was “SFX” refering to “special effects.” However, this is doubtful considering the continual perverse material they produce. It is also relevant that he admits to inserting a subliminal message even if he claims the letters are “SFX.”

Mark Pinsky acknowledged,

Some religious conservatives have complained that the animated features under Michael Eisner’s regime represent a betrayal of Walt’s “family values” legacy. But in addition to the founder’s humanism, as we shall see, the early films strongly supported environmentalism, the theory of evolution, and, arguably, a tolerant, even gay friendly attitude that would doubtless make today’s conservatives uncomfortable, to say the least.45)Mark I. Pinsky, The Gospel According to Disney: Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust, Westminster John Knox Press (Louisville Kentucky) 2004, p. 7

These shenanigans have existed within the Disney Company since the beginning. Pinsky wrote, “The raunchy atmosphere among the animators in Disney’s early years, many veterans recalled, was that of a college fraternity house.”46)Mark I. Pinsky, The Gospel According to Disney: Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust, Westminster John Knox Press (Louisville Kentucky) 2004, p. 239 One of those early animators was Ward

Kimball, who said in an interview with Walter Wagner, “Animation is a complex thing. Sometimes it can get very dull. There are twenty four frames a second in a cartoon. One frame can take fifteen minutes to draw, and it appears on the screen for only a fraction of a second. There’s no other way to do it – it just takes time. So to relieve the monotony, we’d do things like, well, on Snow White we’d draw porno things. That happened all the time…. A lot of those drawings found their way out of the studio.”47)Ward Kimball, as cited by Mark I. Pinsky, The Gospel According to Disney: Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust, Westminster John Knox Press (Louisville Kentucky) 2004, p. 239 Walt Disney himself is quoted as having said, “Every time they make a pornographic film, I make money.”48)Walt Disney – http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000370/bio?ref_=nm_ov_bio_sm

Pic19 - Walt DisneyControversial material was produced during Walt Disney’s lifetime.

Slowly but surely Christians organizations are become more aware of the blatant attempt of indoctrinating our children with the LGBT agenda. Ken Ham from Answers in Genesis has recently written “Sadly, this is exactly what Disney is trying to do: normalize sinful behavior, such as homosexuality, and change attitudes regarding it—starting with the next generation. Movie studios, such as Disney, have already done this successfully with other sinful forms of sexuality by slowly introducing them into films until things that would have shocked people in previous years hardly turn heads anymore. The Disney-owned ABC network includes some of the most blatant examples of homosexuals in television programs.”49)Ken Ham and Avery Foley, “Is It Time to Kiss Disney Good Bye?” March 3, 2017; https://answersingenesis.org/family/homosexuality/time-to-kiss-disney-goodbye/ He recognized an upcoming Beauty and the Beast movie with a gay character and the first gay kiss featured in a cartoon during an episode of the Disney XD children’s program, Star vs. The Forces of Evil.

Recently Disney channel’s Andi Mack came out with one of their character, Cyrus Goodman, coming out of the closet.50)Eric Deggans, “A Boy With A Crush On A Boy – And For The Disney Channel, A First,” Oct. 27, 2017; https://www.npr.org/sections/monkeysee/2017/10/27/560453926/a-boy-with-a-crush-on-a-boy-and-for-the-disney-channel-a-first These themes are only going to become more frequent and predominant as Disney seeks to normalize such perversion for the minds of the youth.

The perversions of Disney go beyond homosexuality and sneaking pornography into their “family friendly” films. Bestiality is another reoccurring theme subtly introduced to children as a fun form of entertainment. Eric Barger and David Benoit recognized the implication in Disney’s 1991 film Beauty and the Beast, explaining, “In Beauty and the Beast, the audience is aware that a spell had been cast upon the man, but Belle didn’t know this and though she thinks she’s in love with a man, she is actually in love with an animal.”51)Eric Barger & David Benoit. Entertaining Spirits Unaware: The End-Time Occult Invasion, Take A Stand! Ministries (Rowlett, TX) 2000, updates 2011 edition, p. 106 The recent film Frozen also makes reference to bestiality in a song about one of the character’s relationship with his reindeer pet.

But you’ll never meet a fellow who’s as Sensitive and sweet!
So he’s a bit of a fixer-upper,
So he’s got a few flaws.

Like his peculiar brain dear,
His thing with the reindeer.
That’s a little outside of nature’s laws!52)Fixer Upper lyrics http://www.stlyrics.com/lyrics/frozen/fixerupper.htm

When we consider the current heads of the corporation we would expect nothing less than their attempts to propagate wicked agendas in keeping with the founder’s goals. Walt Disney has stated his goal in the film industry: “I’d rather entertain and hope that people learn, than teach and hope that people are entertained.”53)Walt Disney – http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000370/bio?ref_=nm_ov_bio_sm Between the years of 1984 to 2005 Michael Eisner was the CEO of Disney. When Richard Land, the former president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission accused Disney of “pushing a Christian-bashing, family-bashing, pro- homosexual agenda,” on CBS news program 60 Minutes November 23, 1998, Eisner retorted, “We’re not pushing any agenda. We are pushing in our corporate marketplace tolerance and understanding, expansiveness. We are totally onto an ethical compass, a moral compass.”54)Tom Strode, “An Undeniable Agenda,” SBC LIFE, Feb. 1998 issue, http://www.sbclife.net/Articles/1998/02/sla16 Where is their ethical moral compass? Even secular liberal outlets have written on the topic of “Top 10 Ways Disney Corrupts Children.”55)Anonymous, November 22, 2012, http://listverse.com/2012/11/22/top-10-ways-disney-corrupts-children/ As the world’s largest employer of homosexuals, a perverse agenda will obviously be presented in the perverse material produced by those who live a perverse lifestyle.

A significant (no one knows precisely how significant) percentage of Disney’s workforce, including its top-level executives, is gay. An article in the May 1995 issue of Los Angeles-based Buzz magazine on the gay presence at Disney was titled “Will the Mouse Come Out?” In it, writer Steven Gaines named half a dozen high-level executives as gay, most involved in the animated features, and he quoted an unnamed company source estimating that as many as 40 percent of Disney employees are gay.56)Mark I. Pinsky, The Gospel According to Disney: Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust, Westminster John Knox Press (Louisville Kentucky) 2004, p. 243

Pic20 - Robert IgerRobert Iger, current CEO of Disney

The current CEO, Robert Iger, has caused alarm for the company’s shareholders. “On occasion of the Disney annual shareholder meeting today, the Free Enterprise Project is warning Disney shareholders that CEO Robert Iger’s progressive political bias puts investors at risk.”57)http://www.nationalcenter.org/PR-FEP_Disney_031010.html Douglas MacKinnon has indicated Iger and Disney have an agenda to promote homosexuality to children.

Beginning with the takeover of the company by Michael Eisner in 1984 and continuing under the leadership of Robert Iger since 2005, it can be argued that Disney has been working overtime to redefine “family values.”…

Back in the late 1990s when I worked with former Sen. Bob Dole, I had the pleasure to interact with Iger. He was professional, respectful and could not have been more kind or considerate. Since taking over, he has only made the company more profitable. But beyond his fiscal responsibility to shareholders, does Iger have an even greater responsibility to impressionable children?

Disney has made no secret that it pushes a pro-gay agenda. That is most certainly its right. But where does the company draw the line? A former Disney executive I spoke with told me the company has taken direct aim at children to indoctrinate them about gay lifestyles and gay marriage through shows it airs on The Disney Channel and Disney XD.

The former executive said one of the more subtle techniques is to incorporate the colors of the gay-pride flag in as many shots as possible. The colors are woven in as a wink and nod to the gay community and show up on shirts, hats, posters, stacked cups and rings. The practice has been picked up by other children’s networks and national advertisers.

Disney also pushes the gay agenda by introducing openly gay characters and couples on its children’s programing. Again, that is their right, but should they be in the business of entertaining children or indoctrinating them?”58)Douglas MacKinnon, cited http://mediamatters.org/blog/2014/08/13/tampa-tribune-columnist-disney-is- indoctrinatin/200414

One thing that is well known about Disney owned News stations are their reputation for propagating false information.

The liberal watchdog group Media Matters for America named ABC its third annual “Misinformer of the Year” award in 2006, not only for the miniseries [The Path to 9/11], but for the alleged conservative pandering of ABC News director Mark Halperin and for biased claims on news programs such as ABC World News and Good Morning America.”59)http://controversy.wikia.com/wiki/The_Walt_Disney_Company_controversies

As one blog recognized: “But if you were only watching ABC, CBS, or NBC to get informed, you would be sadly illiterate when it comes to today’s biggest story…. Indeed, Iger’s—and Disney’s—overall leftist bias has shown through ABC’s programming before. ABC is the home network for such famous liberals as Peter Jennings, Diane Sawyer, George Stephanopoulos, Rosie O’Donnell, and Charles Gibson.”60)http://www.aim.org/on-target-blog/media-continue-to-ignore-climategate/ The Huffington Post reported:

Disney CEO Bob Iger had to defend ABC News and ESPN against one shareholder’s charges of “liberal bias” at the company’s annual meeting in Phoenix on Wednesday….

Iger defended both networks, saying, “Without meaning to sound overly defensive, I believe that the body of their work in fact is fair and unbiased and unaccurate.”

“We have at times either presented the news in slightly inaccurate ways through mistakes or in ways that we weren’t necessarily proud of,” he conceded. “But I firmly stand behind the integrity of our news organizations.”61)http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/03/07/disney-abc-news-liberal-bias_n_2828863.html

Don’t think that the Huffington Post is presenting slander on his character as his wife works for them. “FOX News has reported: [Disney CEO] Iger has impeccable liberal credentials. He gives about 90 percent of his personal political contributions to Democrats and special interest groups; his wife, former news anchor Willow Bay, has a senior position with the Huffington Post.”62)http://www.aim.org/on-target-blog/media-continue-to-ignore-climategate/ His political contributions are also revealing and publicly accessible.63)http://www.campaignmoney.com/political/contributions/robert-iger.asp?cycle=12

I have spoken to a political science student who explained to me how Politics and Hollywood work hand-in-hand. The film industry gives donations to political parties in order to get permits to make films. The political party that gives them favorable permits have their agendas pushed in the films produced in order to indoctrinate the masses to keep specific political party in office, so Hollywood continues getting permits in the future and turning over a profit and continues to support the political party with donations. Recently Disney threatened to never again film a movie in the state of Georgia if Governor Nathan Deal would not veto the Free Exercise Protection Act, which gave businesses the freedom to exercise their religious convictions without threat of being sued by homosexuals.64)http://www.aol.com/article/2016/04/01/disney-among-companies-accused-of-going-to-war-on-christianity/21336653/

Robert Iger is closely affiliated with the current administration of President Obama so there is no surprise that Disney is pushing propaganda. Consider the fact that anyone who purchases a Disney product is indirectly supporting the political party that the Disney Corporation chooses to yoke themselves with and is financing their continuance of their propaganda to influence the next generations worldview.

“Given its powerful role among media-driven modes of communication, the Walt Disney Company exercises a highly disproportionate concentration of control over the means of producing, circulating and exchanging information, especially to kids…. Allied with multimedia giant Apple, Inc. (Apple CEO Steve Jobs is the single largest shareholder in Disney) and the cutting-edge animation studio Pixar, Disney is beyond doubt a powerful example of the new corporate media at the beginning of the 21st century.”65)Henry A Giroux, “How Disney Magic and the Corporate Media Shape Youth Identity in the Digital Age” Sunday, 21 August 2011, Truthout; http://www.truth-out.org/opinion/item/2808:how-disney-magic-and-the-corporate-media-shape-youth-identity-in-the-digital-age

Steve Jobs (Feb. 24, 1955-Oct. 5, 2011) became the largest shareholder (at 7%) in the Disney Company when Robert Iger acquired Pixar animation Studio in a $7.4 billion transaction in January 24, 2006.

Pic21 - Pixar-Steve JobsPic22 - Steve Jobs 2Steve Jobs

Jobs was the cofounder chairman and CEO of Apple Inc., cofounder and chief executive of Pixar Animation Studio, founder NeXT, a computer platform that Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web on, Jobs oversaw the development of the iMac, iTunes, iPod, iPhone, and iPad, and on the services side, the company’s Apple Retail Stores, iTunes Store and the App Store, and has been called the “father of the digital revolution” and the “evangelist of the digital age.” As a major figure on the Disney board of directors, his views are relevant to this discussion, especially since Disney animation is solely through Pixar Studios (with the one exception of 2009 animation The Princess and the Frog). In his younger years, Jobs admittedly experimented with psychedelics, later calling his LSD experiences “one of the two or three most important things [he had] done in [his] life”66)John Markoff, What the Dormouse Said: How the Sixties Counterculture Shaped the Personal Computer Industry, Penguin, 2005 preface xix. His spiritual philosophy is well known as “Jobs traveled to India in mid-1974 to visit Neem Karoli Baba at his Kainchi ashram with a Reed College friend (and, later, an early Apple employee), Daniel Kottke, in search of spiritual enlightenment.”67)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Jobs#cite_note-redmondpie-178 A graphic novel titled The Zen of Steve Jobs tells the story of Jobs’ relationship with Kobun Chino Otogawa a Zen Buddhist priest who emigrated to the U.S. from Japan in the early 1970s.68)Caleb Melby, The Zen of Steve Jobs, Wiley; 1st edition (January 3, 2012) In an interview in 1985, Jobs said in respect to money that “the challenges are to figure out how to live with it and to reinvest it back into the world which means either giving it away or using it to express your concerns or values.”69)“Interview to Playboy magazine”. Archived from the original on 2012-04-23. Playboy. February 1985; cited http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Jobs#cite_note-redmondpie-178 Considering that in 2010 he was rated as the 42nd richest man in America, he had a lot of money to reinvest. During his entire life, he is reported to have donated only $209,000 to democrats, $45,700 to special interests, and $1,000 to republicans. Obviously he did not give much of his money away so he must have reinvested it by propagating his concerns and values through the media outlets he owned.

The extremely crude adult cartoon South Park aired on Comedy Central opened its 13th season with an episode entitled “The Ring” that played on the plot with the Walt Disney Company, and the Mickey Mouse cartoon character was featured.

South Park “The Ring”

Pic23 - South Park-The Ring

As is common with vulgar comedians, South Park instigates its raunchy humor by recognizing popular opinion or stereotypes and inflating them into hyperbolic expression for shock value. Wikipedia reports on this episode:

Reviewers and commentators have described “The Ring” as not just a parody of… the Walt Disney Company. The episode portrays Disney as a corporation using the ruse of family- friendly morals to disguise their primary motive, which is profit; reviewers and articles said this point is further illustrated by the use of Mickey Mouse, a cartoon symbol for the wholesome Disney image, as a foul-mouthed, contemptuous, greedy, all-powerful and violent character…. The episode further illustrates the greed of corporate culture by portraying Mickey as capitalizing on religion for profit, while secretly mocking it in a particularly cruel tone: “I’ve made billions off of Christian ignorance for decades now! And do you know why? Because Christians are retarded! They believe in a talking dead guy!”70)http://controversy.wikia.com/wiki/The_Walt_Disney_Company_controversies#cite_note-Time0312-55

It is amazing how the secular world views Christians because so many actually believe that Disney is a moral company with strong family value that stand compatible with Christianity.

Is this generation so utterly illiterate of the Bible or so deep in apostasy that it will ignore the declaration of Solomon who called his search for entertainment “vanity.” “…I gat me men singers and women singers, and the delights of the sons of men, as musical instruments, and that of all sorts…. And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from any joy… and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.” (Ecclesiastes 2:8-11) Philip Schaff spoke of the Nicene age in which “Not a few pagan habits and ceremonies, concealed under new names, crept into the church… Chrystom mourns over the theatrical customs, such as loud clapping in applause, which the Christians at Antioch and Constantinople brought with them into the church.”71)Philip Schaff, History of the Christian Church, Hendrickson Publishers, 1867, 2011, Vol. 3, p. 377 Paul wrote the list of abominable sins in Romans chapter 1, identifying idolatry, homosexuality, and disobedience to parents among many other things that are presented in Disney movies, ending the list with the statement, “Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them” (Romans 1:32). Seeking entertainment from Disney is exactly that, taking pleasure in them that do them, and supporting, endorsing, and encouraging the continuation of such flagrant sin, “ye sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the whore” (Isaiah 57:3). Scripture warns us that in the end times “evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived” (2 Timothy 3:13). Paul warns that professing Christians “shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables” (2 Timothy 4:4). The very fables of ancient Greece that Paul was familiar with are those being presented by the Disney Company today. Church historian Philip Schaff wrote, “But there were at that time some callings which either ministered solely to sinful gratification, like that of the stage player, or were intimately connected with the prevailing idolatry, like the manufacture, decoration, and sale of mythological images and symbols, the divination of astrologers, and all species of magic. These callings were strictly forbidden in the church, and must be renounced by the candidate for baptism.”72)Philip Schaff, History of the Christian Church, Hendrickson Publishers, 1867, 2011, Vol. 2, p.344 Christians that justify these movies are “turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness” (Jude 4). Proverbs 25:26, states, “A righteous man falling down before the wicked is as a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring.” The Spirit of God inspired Isaiah to cry out, “Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin” (Isaiah 30:1).

In closing, one simple question should be asked, “When did Christians begin to accept the movies?” Is it because these secular movies companies have become more Christian, or have the Christians become more secular? The following are a few quotations from the early church fathers about going to the theaters in their days.
“At first the theatre was properly a temple of Venus; and, to speak briefly, it was owing to this that stage performances were allowed to escape censure, and got a footing in the world.”73)Tertullian, The Show, or De Spectaculis,Chap. X; in The Ante-Nicene Fathers (ed. Alexander Roberts, D.D. & James Donaldson, LL.D.), Hendrickson Publishers, 1885, 2012, Vol. 3, p. 84

“Are we not, in like manner, enjoined to put away from us all immodesty? On this ground, again, we are excluded from the theatre, which is immodesty’s own peculiar abode, where nothing is in repute but what elsewhere is disreputable.”74)Tertullian, The Show, or De Spectaculis, Chap. XVII; in The Ante-Nicene Fathers (ed. Alexander Roberts, D.D. & James Donaldson, LL.D.), Hendrickson Publishers, 1885, 2012, Vol. 3, p. 86

“Does it then remain for us to apply to the heathen themselves. Let them tell us, then, whether it is right in Christians to frequent the show. Why, the rejection of these amusements is the chief sign to them that a man has adopted the Christian faith. If any one, then, puts away the faith’s distinctive badge, he is plainly guilty of denying it…. When you go over to the enemy’s camp, you throw down your arms, desert the standards and the oaths of allegiance to your chief: you cast in your lot for life or death with your new friends.”75)Tertullian, The Show, or De Spectaculis, Chap. XXIII; in The Ante-Nicene Fathers (ed. Alexander Roberts, D.D. & James Donaldson, LL.D.), Hendrickson Publishers, 1885, 2012, Vol. 3, p. 89

“People flock thither to the public disgrace of the brothel for the teaching of obscenity, that nothing less may be done on secret than what is learnt in public; and in the midst of the laws themselves is taught everything that the laws forbid. What does a faithful Christian do among these things, since he may not even think upon wickedness? Why does he find pleasure in the representations of lust, so as among them to lay aside his modesty and become more daring in crimes? He is learning to do, while he is becoming accustomed to see.”76)Cyprian, On the Public Shows, para. 6; in The Ante-Nicene Fathers (ed. Alexander Roberts, D.D. & James Donaldson, LL.D.), Hendrickson Publishers, 1885, 2012, Vol. 5, p. 577

“Avoid also indecent spectacles: I mean the theatres and the pomps of the heathens; their enchantments, observations of omens, soothsayings, purgations, divinations, observations of birds; their necromancies and invocations.”77)Constitution of the Holy Apostles, Bk. II, sec. VII; ; in The Ante-Nicene Fathers (ed. Alexander Roberts, D.D. & James Donaldson, LL.D.), Hendrickson Publishers, 1885, 2012, Vol. 7, p. 424
